Sminofu brings a substantial new Maskandi album with iTekisi, a 17-track release set for 16 October 2026. The project opens with “Benilindele Bani (Intro)” before moving into the title track, “iTekisi”, and continues with a tracklist that includes “Amalengiso”, “Why Umehlulela” and “Igeja”.
The album keeps Sminofu at the centre across a run of solo cuts, including “Umuntu Ongenacala”, “Madagascar”, “Es’thenjini”, “Imizamo” and “Imidlwembe”. That gives the project plenty of room to unfold through its full tracklist rather than rushing through a short release.
Collaboration is also part of the album’s makeup. Londeka Shangase appears twice, joining Sminofu on “Ngithunjiwe” and “Ngo December”. Ojakalasi features on “Emabhilidini”, while Njabulo Langa appears on “Umalumekazi” and Zanefa Ngidi joins “Njengobaba”.
The closing stretch runs from “Iyeke Leyondaba” into “eMachobeni”, giving iTekisi a final pair of tracks after its mix of solo performances and guest appearances.
